Thank you for a very interesting read! You blended history, family stories and wonderful food ideas!!! You are an Osterizer of The Best kind❣️ I love that you hung onto that blender, many things Were made so much better back then. I’m enjoying the Spring before the Summer heats up too much. I hope you have a great Summer! and a Happy Father’s Day!
Wow! Who knew Oster had such a fascinating history! I really love the design of this model. I have a much later Oster blender--maybe only 10 or 15 years old. I stuck it in the closet because I found it so frustrating that the crushed ice setting never seemed to do its job and it sounded like the machine might explode or spew its contents all over the kitchen and me while I was attempting to make my drink. I think I’d rather make your mom’s strawberry shortcake. Your picture of it on the pretty white plate against the blue mosaic background is magnifique!
I am very envious of your Osterizer blender. What a cool look!
I bought a much less attractive version at a yard sale before I was married and used it for 25+ years! I only stopped using it after I broke the top and was unable to find a replacement.
Thank you for such an interesting post, always enjoy your writing.
Vicki, I love the story and the recipe. I am a contestant in My Favorite Chef contest. If you get a chance would you vote for me? Here is the link: https://favchef.com/2023/bernadette-laganella

Thanks Peggy. Same to you. It has been a nice, other than the days of smoke, cool spring.
How great that your family held onto this vintage blender and now it’s yours. Love the photo of it with the retro background.
Thanks Amy.
Oh my gosh, this took me back to the glass Waring Blendor my mum used forever. Still have it. Still works.

Sorry about your blender! I certainly don't think my blender could handle crushed ice. Glad you like the picture. Thanks Ruth!
Well maybe I expected too much of the blender. I think it makes a thoroughly respectable shake. I may give it another try.🤗

Thank you Mary Ellen!
My parents had that same blender! My dad liked malts too. How fun is that?
Oh wow!
Oh Vicki, I know the blender, the shortcake and strawberries galore. I am right along with this. What delicious story!
Thank you Sally!
The osterizer! Did you take that photo of it, Vicki? Love it.
I did. Painted the polka dot background too. Thanks Jolene!
Thanks Bernadette. Yes, I will vote, but I'm not on FB if that is a requirement.
