Can’t wait to try the trout recipe (although I will wish they had been pulled from the brook by Cora and Chan’s instead of the store). Sadly, our neighborhood lake is a pond.

Your fella's a keeper. Bee stings are the pits. Ouch.

Always enjoy your writing. Remarkable and touching perspectives. So much talent! XO

Sorry about the bee stings! I used to keep bees and they do get upset they are unexpectedly disturbed! Love the trout idea!

You must have had your share of stings even though I'm sure you know how to protect yourself! You kept them for the honey, I'm assuming.

Yes. With bees if you remember to move slowly they don’t sting. I kept bees for the honey. Had 5 hives and got about 60 pounds of honey from each hive, each season, sometimes twice a year. We sold it at farmers markets.

I am impressed. I suppose if I had remained calmer I would have fared better.

Oh dear, sorry about the bee stings, Vicki, but flowers from a solicitous spouse are some consolation! How lovely to have a lake (or pond!) nearby for summer swims. Thanks as always for the stories and illustrations and a delicious idea for cooking trout!
