Your oysters are the next best thing to real oysters!

Ah, Vicki, thanks for the shoutout! I have a big of frozen oysters I got from the local Asian market and I'm making your chowder tomorrow night!

Vicki, it seems you have given your nephew and wife a perfect picture. I am always drawn (no pun intended) to your artwork. My husband is the oyster man in the family--always raw on a half shell.

Thank you!

I enjoyed the oyster history, as rich as your chowder. I’ve been researching oyster stew recipes and the differences between that and oyster bisque (my dad’s signature dish on Christmas Eve) and now I get to add chowder to the mix! Thanks?

Such an entertaining and edifying read, Vicki—and this from someone who hasn’t learned to like oysters. Your recipe does sound delicious though—and the illustrations are a delight, as always!

I would much rather look at your oyster painting (which is beautiful) than eat oysters! I wrote about Kyle Browne, a Boston artist that is doing her own spin on oysters: https://open.substack.com/pub/palateandpalette/p/kyle-browne-mixed-media-artist-and?r=cioli&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
